Welcome to Huncoat Primary School and Children's Centre

Huncoat Primary has seven classes.

It is our aim to create a happy, caring,

learning environment.

Nursery: There are two nursery sessions:- Morning Session from 9 - 11.30am and Afternoon Session from 12.45 - 3.15pm. The aims of Nursery education are to develop your child's experience so that they are able to achieve their full potential. Nursery education helps your child to take their first step into school life, to build their confidence and give a basis on which all future progress can be built.

The Foundation Stage Curriculum allows for the individual needs of each child and follows Six Areas of Learning:

Personal & Social Development              Language & Literacy

Physical Development          Mathematics          Creative Development

Knowledge & Understanding of the World

Reception:  Reception aged children follow The Foundation Stage Curriculum to achieve the Early Learning Goals.

Special Needs: Children with particular needs are given an Individual Education Plan (IEP). These consist of small manageable steps for children to work on. Parents will be given copies of these and will be expected to support them. IEP's are reviewed at the end of each term.

ICT Suite: We are very lucky to have a separate ICT classroom.
