Sustainability Conference 2025: 

Eight Year 5's and Mrs Casper/ Mrs Alderson went to Blackburn Rovers to take part in a Sustainability Conference with lots of other schools. They saw how important Bees were/ recycling clothes/ waste free lunch boxes and how to make our planet more sustainable. Elsbeth and Amelia Lily won £50 for the school too!

Vital Energi Challenge

Vital Energi asked our children to design a keyring about Climate Change/ Sustainability

These photographs show our winners but also everyone who took the challenge has had their design made into a special keyring.

Year 5 went to Billington and Langho Community Centre in Langho where we met with people who were planting trees for the Woodland Trust from a project called worked for 'Wilder Things.' 
 
The children planted shrubs such as blackthorn and we planted 105 in total!
 
They really enjoyed the experience and learnt some facts about trees and nature.

We are lucky at Huncoat to have such wonderful grounds and opportunities to grow and nurture plants, flowers and vegetables.

Mrs Newell looks after our Garden with the help of our children.

We have been awarded Level Two of the RHS Campaign for School Gardening and been sent a copy of a Gardening Book to enjoy! Well done Mrs Newell and her team!
